"Foxfire"

Foxfire is an elegant and entertaining play, written by Susan Cooper and Hume Cronyn in 1982, which was presented in that year as an enthralling vehicle for Hume Cronyn and his wife, Jessica Tandy. Jessica won both a Tony and an Emmy portraying Annie Nations, a widow who lives with the ghost of her husband on the family homestead and must consider an offer to sell the land to a developer. This production is a staged reading directed by Linda Hancock and features local actors Philip Pearce, Susan Keenan, Richard Boynton, Robert Colter and MaryLee Sunseri. Tickets for the event are $15/MCTA members and $20/non-members and will be sold in advance and at the door.

This is MCTA's annual event encouraging their members and others in the community to contribute to their scholarship fund. Each year the MCTA offers two scholarships of $500 each to be given to graduating Monterey County high school or community college students who have been accepted to college or will transfer to college to study Theatre Arts. This year's event will take place on Saturday, February 21, starting at 7:30 pm at the Bruce Ariss Wharf Theatre on Monterey Wharf #1. Box office will open at 7:00 pm.
